Proposed law in Georgia requiring Health Insurance to cover Autistic Children until the age of 21.
Autism News at Georgia State Capitol was about a heated Tug of war between the law makers of Georgia and the Health insurance companies. The law makers wanted to help the families that have autism children. Originally, the health insurance company would only covered a child who had diagnosed with autism of up to only 6 yrs old. The law makes who were against this short duration of coverage, are proposing a law that would push the coverage of health insurance until the age of 21. Having the length of time of the coverage increase that would mean an extra pay for an extra coverage.
Moreover,That was the very reason why that same issue went to the State Capitol for answers. The law makers are of course considering the impact of this extra coverage and what it would potentially cause the increase of taxes of the small businesses ,their customers and also employees. Many families who were in favor to pass the bill , they said it would be a great help for them financially and it will surely benefit their children .
Early autism diagnosis and intervention are the sort of topics that the families implying to the law makers ,that having to shoulder the expensive expenses for routine Autism therapy plus the need also to provide their other necessities it is simply cannot afford to sustain the medical needs of their children. However, Financial help that would come from the government, if the bill pass, in response to this overwhelming problem that seems to be no hope would somehow provide an ease of burden to some of the families affected by this Autism Disorder.
